Revolutionizing Food Access: The Nori Project ↓

video preview

Dear Readers,

Today, we're excited to share an inspiring story of innovation and social impact. Meet Nora Norton, the visionary behind The Nori Project, a venture that's bringing fresh, nutritious food to underserved communities through high-tech vending machines.

From Projects to Progress

Growing up in Bales, Kentucky, Nora experienced food insecurity firsthand. This challenging start fueled her determination to make a difference. After a detour through law school and a transformative experience in Japan, Nora found her true calling at a UofL Innovation Weekend event.

Inspired by Japan's ubiquitous fresh food vending machines, Nora aims to replicate this model in American food deserts. The Nori Project's mission? To provide affordable, nutritious, and culturally relevant food options where they're needed most.

What Makes Nori Special?

  1. Strategic placement in underserved areas
  2. Locally-sourced, chef-curated meals and snacks
  3. Hot and cold options, including healthy alternatives to traditional snacks
  4. Culturally relevant food choices
  5. Support for local farmers and producers
  6. User-friendly smartphone app for easy access

A Journey of Growth

Nora's transition from law school to entrepreneurship hasn't been easy, but support from mentors and fellow entrepreneurs has been crucial. As she prepares to graduate from the Wild accelerator program, Nora is gearing up for a soft launch and fundraising round.

What's Next?

In the coming months, look out for Nori vending machines popping up in communities near you. This innovative approach to tackling food insecurity and racial inequity could change the landscape of urban nutrition.

How You Can Help

Stay tuned for updates on The Nori Project's progress and ways you can support this game-changing initiative. Together, we can bring fresh food to the sidewalks and make a real difference in our communities.
